Umberto Squarcia Jr. is born in Rochester (USA) in November 1970. He attended Liceo G.D. Romagnosi in Parma and graduated in architecture at the University "La Sapienza" in Rome. During the years of high school and university he has traveled extensively in Europe and America, working for several seasons in the United States. During the university he worked at the "Casini" Architectural firm in Rome. Since 1995 he begins an artistic production complementary to the studies and then to work. He participates at various group exhibitions in Rome and Parma. In February 1998 he obtained the license for the profession in Italy. From October 1998 to December 2004 he worked in New York for the M/G Architects firm as Project Manager. From 1999 he follows restoration, renovation and design projects in Parma, maintaining a design office. In 2003 he studied Interior Design at Parsons School in New York. In April 2003, he creates, with the architect Augusto Ferretti, Aurea Architecture office in New York. In 2005 he established the "Umberto Squarcia Designs Inc." an architectural and design firm specialized in historical renovations, residential, commercial, food, retail and real estate. Many of the firm's clients are Italian companies and Italian private investors. In 2006 he created the "Columbi Experience", an internship program for architecture students of italian universities.

Umberto Squarcia Jr. e' nato a Rochester (USA) nel Novembre 1970. Ha conseguito la maturita' classica al Liceo G.D. Romagnosi di Parma e si e' laureato in Architettura all'Universita' "La Sapienza" di Roma. Negli anni liceali e universitari ha viaggiato intensamente in Europa e in America compiendo esperienze lavorative per diverse stagioni negli Stati Uniti. Durante l'Universita' ha lavorato presso lo studio di Architettura Casini di Roma. Dal 1995 comincia una produzione artistica complementare agli studi e poi al lavoro. Partecipa a Roma e a Parma a varie esibizioni collettive. Nel Febbraio 1998 ha conseguito la licenza all'esercizio professionale in Italia. Dall'Ottobre 1998 al dicembre 2004 ha lavorato a New York nello Studio M/G Architects come Project Manager. Dal 1999 in poi segue progetti di restauro, ristrutturazione e design a Parma mantenendovi uno studio di progettazione. Nel 2003 ha frequentato Interior Design alla Parsons School di New York. Nell'Aprile 2003, forma con l'architetto Augusto Ferretti lo studio Aurea Architecture a New York. Nel 2005 fonda "Umberto Squarcia Designs Inc.", uno studio di architettura e design che si occupa di recupero di edifici storici, progettazione di spazi residenziali, uffici, spazi per la ristorazione, negozi e di consulenza in campo immobiliare. La clientela è composta soprattutto da aziende e investitori italiani. Nel 2006 crea la "Columbi Experience", un tirocinio per studenti di architettura delle università italiane.
